Harnessing the present moment.

All throughout history human beings have been evolving and revolutionizing new ways of making life better on earth. Nothing ever happens until something moves. So when you get down to the nitty gritty of your own life and self improvement, everything comes down to action! I’ve been a long sufferer of anxiety, o.c.d and post traumatic stress for many years, I know I sound like a hot mess. I find the only way out of those states of mind is to stay in the fixed habit of doing the best for myself in making me feel better in the moment. I’m so high energy at times that I find it hard to relax. So bringing myself into a peaceful state of mind to meditate or just shut my thoughts off can be a tedious task!

What always makes me feel better though is getting in touch with nature and using my body, mind and soul in a positive way. Giving service in any shape or form is also so rewarding, as I find to give is to receive. We only need to focus on what’s happening in the present moment. Because life moves so fast we have to harness the energy in the present and really try to feel gratitude whenever possible as goodness is always surrounding us. It’s weather we let it in or not. Even in times of crisis there’s always lessons to learn. Appreciating the so called bad times is all part of the journey. That’s why letting go of heavy emotions such as anger and jealousy is a necessity to experience the fulfillment of the joyous expansion which is so rightfully yours. We’re all works in progress and that is what’s special.

LIfe and Love

Sometimes in the busyness of my mind I lose focus on what matters in  my life. I think so many of us do in these times when we are bombarded with many stories of negativity on tv, the radio and newspaper. But something deep inside my soul always tells my mind to snap out of it and just be grateful for everything that i do have in my life. Living in a state of gratitude puts an individual on the frequency which is in alignment to their true nature. Yesterday I saw these young kids riding their bikes laughing and just loving the present moment. I smiled as I saw these kids and I reflected on my own youth when all I ever thought about was the excitement that each day brought. How endless energy was always drawn from within and shinned outwards. It’s been proven that we are what we are because what we think and the environment we reside in. So very true when you think about it on a deep level. Our whole existence is the result of evolutionary change. We stand on the perfect platform right here and now to create a state of well being for ourselves and the people around us. Being truly aligned with Love and Gratitude always brings us closer to receiving all the bountiful gifts that are awaiting our claim. The business of happiness always depends on what we allow to flow our way. Intending happiness for ourselves and others is such a blessing. My desire for the world is for everyone who has resistant thoughts to come out of those holding patterns and awakening to the higher self which is the real you.

Infinite Gratitude and Love to all..

Terry Enright

This past February I met an amazing man named Terry Enright, I met Terry while doing a bike ride across   the beautiful country of Cambodia. The first day of the ride I met so many wonderful people that were all part of a great cause . All the riders involved were helping to raise money and awareness to help eradicate human trafficking and sex slavery. Terry and I rode together for much of that first day and he shared many stories about his life. He had lost a wife and daughter that meant the world to him and he spoke of both of them in such high regards. Terry past away this past week and as much as it saddened me I found some peace in the misfortune to know that his spirit can now join his lost loved ones from the past ,and not have to suffer from the cancer he had been battling for the past 7 years. I can speak on behalf of all the riders that our lives have been made better from meeting and riding with Terry. Not once did he complain of anything during the long days of riding through country side roads and villages. He loved people and most of all was a a giver of his own love in all aspects of his life. Many emotions were shared on that ride in shelters and as a group just getting to know each other. I found out the first day of the ride he had funded a school in memory of his late wife and after the ride was over he was to give the school it’s first breath of life for the kids of Cambodia which he cared for so deeply. Terry made a difference in the lives of others, he made an imprint in my soul, and my memory of him will never die. Next year when I ride from Vietnam to Cambodia for the same cause (The Somaly Mam Foundation and Projects Futures Global) I will ride in honour of Terry Enright. I miss and Love you Terry. Thank you for all the lives you’ve touched and the many that will benefit from you being on this planet.
Rest In Peace my dear friend
Much Love Ryan Phillips and all who loved Terry

Acceptance of emotions.

How many times in our lives do we hear life is a series of tests? Lot’s most likely, and I agree that we go through every segment of life experience to feel emotions and gain a deep understanding of others and what we may truly desire in life. It’s very tough sometimes when all the chips deem down and life is against you to get back on the positive vibration. I’ve been feeling a lot like that lately. My gut telling me one thing, my heart guiding me into another. The worst part is sometimes you hurt others in the process and don’t realize that the only person who is entirely in control of the way we feel is “us”. We have the choice to to allow ourselves to feel good or bad in every moment of life. When we’re feeling down we can really fall into some deep misery. And we wonder how at times we can feel so good then “bam!” Some issues arise weather personal or work related that really effect our vibrational set point.

The only advice I can give to you guys , Is when these feelings come about are to really just accept them for what they are and follow your intuition. I always feel so bad when I get taken the wrong way or hurt people I really care about because they aren’t inside me and have no real idea how I feel. I believe if you are an honest good person that you deserve to feel good most of the time. The good times pass, the so called bad times are times to appreciate the good ones that much more. And allowing your self to feel is a true blessing no matter what the emotions are that come into our mind, body and soul..I’m just saying sometimes we need to be a little selfish and focus on ourselves from the inside out. See where the issues are deep rooted and walk through them with courage and faith. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy, especially if your a sensitive person that feels life on a very emotional level.

Stay Cool and Enjoy the process of Life unfold..

A Daughters Love

I’m a single parent as many of you know, and that’s not always the easiest thing in the world on a parent or the children that come from a broken home. I always like to think I do my best to be there for her and just love her unconditionally. But when an father isn’t totally present in a child’s  life it can be very hard on both the child and the parents. I saw my little girl for the first time in just over three months yesterday and I felt more love in the first second than I’ve felt since the last time we hugged and kissed goodbye. If your a parent you understand that time moves very fast and our children grow up in no time. I remember like it was yesterday when she was just starting to talk, that was almost 12 years ago now. Now it’s as if I’m talking to a young adult. I just have to sit in her presence and watch the entertainment unfold as she loves to put on a show. Sometimes we have to look back into our own childhood and remember how much we wanted to be loved and accepted. The early teens can be a very tough age as it’s that time in life where we are really searching for an identity. Influences and distractions come our way. So paving the way with good examples is so important. I’m so grateful to have a daughter that loves me and makes me laugh. I was worn out from a long few days of travel but her unlimited energy gave me a burst of my own and in no time I was dancing like a young kid beside her, talking about memories from the past. Some things I’d thought she had forgotten were brought right back to the surface and it made me realize all the awesome times I’ve had with my little angel. I burnt out after a series of dance offs  and laugh attacks, then crashed in her room beside her. All the money or material possessions in the world doesn’t even come close to that feeling. And this morning the first thing I did was go kiss her for head and whisper ” I love you”.  To all you parents out there I commend you for your strength and courage bringing kids into the world. Teaching them life with values is so important. They always pick up on our honesty. I’m very blessed that my little one can confide in me with anything.  Make today a great one, and shower your children with love.

Much Love
Ryan

Fathers Day

This is to all the dads out there on this special day! I’m very blessed to have an amazing dad that I’ve always looked up to. From the time I was a little one in this world he has always led by example and been there for my family and others through thick and thin. There is no guide to being a parent, but always showing a good example on how to treat others and yourself makes for a pretty damn good role model. Now that I’ve been a father for sometime now I always hope that my daughter can gain valuable life lessons that will help her in her throughout her journey. Loving unconditionally is the key to a great relationship in family and friendships obviously. But today, being fathers day..this is your day to soak up the rewarding feeling that you brought life into this world. Even though it’s not always easy being a parent, the good in most cases always out ways the bad. Hats off to all the dads and may you receive many more blessings along the way.

Happy Fathers Day !

Much Love -Ryan

Everyone has their assets.

I’m in the middle of finishing up a five month project that required tremendous focus for myself and a very good friend who worked on the project with me. When we first set out on the “idea” to make a documentary film we had all these flashes of inspiration running wild in our minds. My friend and I started writing down our intentions for the film and where our destinations were going to be. My goodness did things take a different route as to where we thought it was “all going”. The most important thing that we decided right off the bat, was that no matter what, we were going to create a special journey for others to watch. Throughout the journey of the trip we set out on I learned so much about my friend and the talents he has on creating art. We shared many emotions together and god knows at some points we almost lost the plot. But cooler heads prevailed and not once in the time we spent together did we shout and get angry at each other. As different as we are from each other, we actually have a lot of the same qualities. A mutual respect is needed for any relationship to work. If work isn’t harmonious, the end result can never be good. The universe places people in our lives at just the right moment, nothing I believe is accidental. I learned that one of the greatest assets one can have is an open mind and heart on all subjects. Understanding of the emotions is also a key component in harmonious relations. Because we tend to take on traits of the people we associate with, it only makes sense to have compassion towards the people we hold dear to our hearts. We were all placed on the earth plane for a reason. And some of our greatest accomplishments come right on the brink of failure. Toughing things out until the end and eliminating fear can be hard at times! But the reward in the end is powerfully fulfilling. Great friends aren’t always easy to find, so when you attract good people into your life embrace them and appreciate all that the stand for.

Much Love and Friendship

The Connecting Link

In most cases, everyone in this world wants to be a success! It’s funny how we get educated throughout our school years on many different subjects. But what the system fails to teach kids and teenagers is how to crystallize our dreams into physical reality. The only way to reach our goals is to DESIRE them so badly that they become a burning obsession of the mind. We all need a plan as well to get to where we want to go in life. And if you stop and really THINK about it. We are what we are because of the dominating thoughts we feed our subconscious mind. I know many straight A students that I went to school with that had book smarts, but when it came to the overall education of life they lacked the skills to make it up towards the top of the ladder of what we as human beings call success. The CONNECTING LINK is the subconscious mind. Whatever we feed the subconscious mind with emotion(positive or negitive), it grows like a seed and creates other thought patterns in like manner. Education in school is a great asset of course, but just because you don’t have a degree of some sort doesn’t mean you can’t plan idea’s and dreams so continuously (with Belief) that eventually you become your thoughts. The people and circumstances will come into your experience in accordance to your habit thoughts. I’ve mentioned before, surround yourself with people that know things you don’t and make you better. In turn there will be something you can give to them. Stay focused and steadfast on the target and make no mistake that if you play by the rules, which is being an honest person who treats others with respect. In that way people will make way for you to succeed. It’s not all about capital! Yes we need capital to live and have freedom. But gaining long lasting personal relationships is just as important. People want to see good people do well. People love winners. So take on that attitude if you already haven’t, because the only race you are facing is time!! Stay true to what you believe and may all your dreams come true.

Much Love and Happiness

Imagination

The one thing that every human being with a healthy mind has been given is an imagination! The question is weather we put it to use or not? If you look all down through the ages of history the people who’s names stick out, are the one’s that used the faculty of their creative imagination. Through mind development the creative imagination can be put to use. But it takes practice. Remember when we were kids we dreamed of all kinds of things. Especially at night before bed. Now for most of us, because of pressures at the work place or relationships, health, you name it. Our imagination in a lot of cases never gets put to use fully the way our creator intended it too. We literally hold ourselves back from so many opportunities we can create for ourselves and others. The best time to put an idea to work is in the time of it’s inception. Work with what you have and start writing down plans on how you will achieve your goal. Take some time everyday to close your eyes and dream of that which you desire. We can make huge changes in our lives if we use our imagination. It’s very important to not waste time on an idea because the longer you wait the quicker it will fade away. It may sound off the wall here, but injecting the faith of a child into your mindset is a good idea. Bring back those days when you knew the sky was the limit and never accept anything other than what benefits you and the people around you. The more you think about about your dreams and feed them into your subconscious mind, is when your imagination will hand over to you plans. It’s really that simple. Remember even though you may have had a tough time in the past doesn’t mean you are a failure. It’s the people that never accept failure and keep plugging away at their dreams that finally realize their true potential. We’ve all been blessed with a brain that sends out signals and picks up vibrations from other brains and the ether. Now it’s our responsibility to put it to good use. I sure have my moments, but I know that the only thing ever holding me back is lack of self confidence and imagination. So that’s what I work on the most.

Believe in yourself and THINK BIG.
Much Love Ryan.

Keep your Loved ones close

I don’t know about you guys and gals out there, but if I’m right family and friends mean the most to us in our lives. They are the ones who are always there for us when the chips are up or down. They are the ones that love and care for us the most. No matter what the situations are in are daily lives , good or bad it’s the people we love and love us back that we can turn to at all times. There’s nothing better than the feeling of talking to someone who truly cares about your well being and state of mind. That’s why it’s so important to cherish the people we have in our lives, and always be open to new relationships that help us grow in all aspects of our lives. That’s what’s so exciting about life. Through the ever expanding universe there is this magic that puts people in our experience in accordance to our thoughts. And the more we are open to receiving all that is good, by doing good to others the more people and circumstances that harmonize with our intentions will fall into line. What a life this is, that we all stand on the leading edge of thought with the power to mold the energy that creates worlds. Only through focussed thought will you be able to build your life into a beautiful piece of art. That’s what you are anyways. The physical body and mind are manifestations of a power. A great power that if used to even a quarter of it’s capabilities will inspire us with awe. So even on our down days, just think of the gift of being here in this present moment. Love yourself and shine light on the world as it’s a true blessing to be here with all the tools to make a difference. Just relax and let the energy flow. Oh by the way, I’m learning that skill as well, relaxing isn’t always easy, but it’s essential to feel good and maintain the health of our physical and mental body.

Much Love and Peace.
