PRO ATHLETES ARE REAL PEOPLE

I awoke this morning to see that my favorite hockey player Sidney Crosby was back skating with his respective team the Pittsburgh Penguins. His teammates all taped a “C” on their practice jerseys to honor their respected captain and show support in his attempt to comeback after this setback that has been a major test to his will. It just goes to show that no matter how big of celebrity or how much fame, these people are built from the same stuff we are and are only human. It was a love and desire for the game he loves so much that got Sidney there in the first place. He’s such a class guy off the ice and has shown such poise and determination on wanting to comeback. But his health comes number one. The game sure misses it’s biggest star and I hope he’s back soon.

Another hot topic is all this talk about Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow and how religious he is. It’s funny how people that have nothing better to talk about have to pick on someone who’s taking his team to great heights through his willingness to be the best he can. So what if he’s Mr. religious. He’s a rarity these days in the NFL where a lot of the league is fuelled by big egos. He’s as real as they come. And the fact he believes that there’s a power greater than what we see in the tangible world, well good on him that he can draw strength from that and get the backing of not only his teammates but the city of Denver.

At the end of the day it’s all opinions from people and media that are making jokes mostly out of jealousy because he’s winning. I hope Tim and the Broncs win it all, and I’m not even a big football fan. Everyone is entitled to beliefs in religion and whatever else they choose, and this guy is just living his life through integrity playing his heart out.
