Today was spent getting mental prepared for what’s to come, After a walk around of the city of Saigon visiting the old war museum which I couldn’t bare to be in for more than ten minutes the group piled into the support vehicles and drove 3 hours outside the capital to Ben Tre. It was a pleasant ride, relaxing for most taking naps in the vans before we saddle up tomorrow the 10th (Vietnams New Year, Year of the Snake) 90km..Everyone is very excited! we got fitted for our bikes and are ready to roll!. The ride displayed beautiful rice paddies, rivers and deltas with water buffalos along the river beds. Tomorrow we will be cycling in the heart of the fascinating Mekong Delta. I’m so looking forward to the exciting ride with a purpose instilled inside all our hearts. The group has become close already. Age doesn’t play a part on this journey, all the people involved have the look and excitement in their eyes like a bunch of kids. We will all be there for one another throughout the journey, and the best part is, is that the unexpected is in the secret of the adventure.
