A full flight from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City, the capital of Vietnam was only two hours. I sat beside a really nice Vietnamese man that shared his love for family with me along our short journey. I love meeting people when I’m traveling that share the same views as myself and so many others in the world. He was able to educate me on the capital, saying there’s more than 10 million people in this massive city. I was a tad tired but dropped my bags off and went exploring for a few hours before finally hitting the wall. So far I’ve found the people here to be very friendly and warm. The prices of food and clothes are very inexpensive and the streets kept very clean. Mopeds are the main method of transportation as they buzz through the streets in and out from one another like ants. In some cases I saw up to four people sharing one moped. I feel very blessed to be here, marking off another city in the world on my bucket list. It’s hard to even ponder the thoughts of the troubles this country had during the war. But so much has changed! The people here are peaceful and gentle from what I’ve gathered thus far, full of energy! And I look forward to the journey of winding through then rest of the country on a bike.
Namaste. Ryan
