Half The Sky

Last night I watched one of the best films of my life! Half The Sky centred on the topics of sex slavery, human trafficking and rape. As I watched intently in with my parents all I wanted to do was help those innocent girls who have had horrible acts of sexual violence brought against them. I felt so blessed to have the life I’ve lived with a loving family and support network. For many of these victims of such malicious cowardly acts, they are SOLD into the sex business for profits serving many clients a day. Diseases are spread, they are physically tortured and emotionally scared for ever. But this Life killing business is now being brought to the surface more than ever. We can all give a little bit of our time to open our eyes and help. A little help goes such a long way. No human being deserves to be treated like this! I was honoured to meet Somaly Mam this past year, and from a male standpoint I will never stop doing my best to bring awareness to this cause. I saw first hand ,in the country of Cambodia how she has dedicated her life to eradicating this business. It is a tremendous challenge, but with the LOVE she has in her heart and people who are seeing the pain, change is happening. I had a tough time sleeping last night knowing that many girls world wide are slaves in brothels. Please take the time to give some attention to this, if we don’t, who will?
